Kurt Halverson, DC (Owner & Founder)
Dr. Halverson founded and opened this clinic in 2014 because he wanted to renew his focus on non-operative care, while offering the same experienced staff that Hilo knows.
Dr. Halverson was born and raised in Honolulu and moved to the Big Island Back in the 1982, he's worked in East Hawaii for several decades now, and during that time he's worked to nurture the healing process for thousands of Big Island clients who have come to see him with a variety of injuries.
But times change, and with that new partnerships and new practices come to the forefront of our focus. Dr. Turner and our staff are very excited to offer you a enhanced environment, focused solely on the healing process.

John L. Turner, MD
Dr. John L. Turner, MD, author of Medicine, Miracles and Manifestations, board certified in neurological surgery, was the first neurosurgeon to practice on the Big Island at the Hilo Medical Center. Beginning in 1981, he performed surgery for traumatic head, spinal and nerve injuries as well as elective surgery for a variety of conditions from brain tumors to herniated spinal discs. He now practices in the field of neurological/neurosurgical consultations and pain management for those injured in motor vehicular injuries and those hurt while working.
Dr. Turner is able to provide many forms of diagnosis and treatment including pain medications, and muscle relaxants, and various procedures to treat pain by blocking nerves or muscular/trigger-point/spinal injections using modern state-of-the-art ultrasound guidance, avoiding the necessity of X-ray exposure. These procedures include:
A variety of nerve blocks for leg and arm pain, neck pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome can easily be done using ultrasonic guidance.

Scott Lee, RN/L.Ac.
Scott Lee received his Nursing Degree from the University of the Virgin Islands in the early 70's and has had a successful practice ever since. He worked in India studying Tibetan Medicine finishing his Bachelors of Science in Biology and Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine. Scott has specialized in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs in Hilo since 1990. He has had extensive experience treating automobile and work related injuries utilizing Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs to reduce pain and speed the healing and recovery process.
Scott works with International Medical Relief, an international NGO that provides medical services to under served communities throughout the world. He is in charge of the acute and chronic pain relief clinics on his missions to Africa, India and Asia.
Scott's primary focus is to ease pain and suffering through the ancient art and science of Chinese Medicine.
